Two students come closer to each other in a time that is not meant for them. Will one of them be able to leave the ruins of his past behind and follow the call of the other? The short film Fernherrlichkeit tells the story of student Richard, who clings to his family past under pressure, but is shown a different perspective by his fellow student Anton. Fernherrlichkeit emphasises the tension between homosexual love and the social constraints of a still-relevant past - a conflict that has been dealt with many times before, but here from its own aesthetic perspective. Story requires aesthetics and vice versa.
