About
In 1993 Marcator’s musical fate turned when he was offered a record deal by Prudence. His previous productions had mostly appeared on a private basis. Since then his publications can roughly be divided into two categories which can occasionally mingle: On the one hand concept albums, with or without vocals and on the other hand instrumental albums with guitars and electronics. The main concept albums on Prudence are Dreamtime Cycle (1994), Beyond The Mirrors (1996), Necromantra (1998), Evolution (2009), Cimbria -1883 (2011). Among the guitar albums there are two CDs with Holger Mummert, Wattenklänge I (2001) and Wattenklänge II (2003) with mostly acoustic guitar. Solo guitar albums are Coconut Time (2007), Song Of The Dodo (2011) and Last Nights Of The Prom (2014). The latest experimental and ambient album is Wai (2016). In 2019 Prudence releases a new instrumental guitar album Inmortal, with a lounge and chill vibe. Apart from his solo work Marcator has released three albums with the psychedelic rock band Z and two albums with the singer/songwriter band Foolswood. In 2020 Marcator completes the Wattenklänge trilogy now without his musical partner as ‘Wattenklänge III’.After the dissolution of FOOLSWOOD Marcator recorded an album with German lyrics (2020/21), influenced by grief and loss in his private life, as well as subjects and problems of modern times, themes many people can identify with today.
