Fabian Römer was born in Zurich on October 1973. From 1994 to 1998 he studied violin, piano and classical composition at the SMPV Zurich (Prof. Slobodan Mirkovic) und co-founded 1995 the GYSKO(recording studio, soundlaboratory, clubs, bars, artist-studios) in Switzerland. In this creative
enviroment he produced and performed in the 90s a lot of electronic music. In 1995 he composed his first filmscore to the french movie «Les Egarés» directed by Gabriel Le Bomin. 1998 he moved to Munich, where he lives today.
Römer composed the music for more than 250 TV- and feature films from Germany, France, Switzerland and other countries such as the ZDF three part series «Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter» (IT: „generation war“), the six part 100-min-movie series «Tannbach» (IT: „line of separation“) , and a lot of
event television movies.
Focused on his cinematic movie work he composed amongst other films «The Door» a mystery-drama starring Mads Mikkelsen, «Antonin's Stories» a french WW1 film, or „A regular woman“ an actual drama.
Since 2018 he composes the score to the ZDFneo/Netflix drama series „Perfume“. He was awarded three times with the „German Emmy“, the „music authors award by GEMA“, the „german film critics award“, the „International Soundtrack Council Award“, nominated for the „German Film Award“ – and receives in 2020 the Central Swiss Culture Award
