About
Barbara Lexa, born in 1967 in Upper Bavaria, grew up with a lot of music. As a child she sang and yodeled with her mother on many stages, then learned guitar and piano. At the age of 14 she became a member of a string ensemble, in which she played guitar for six years. This was followed by a total of 12 years playing keyboard and electric bass in various bands, mainly singing in dialect and playing hits and oldies.
In 2001 Barbara brought her first dialect program to the stage and toured successfully for seven years with changing "Oa-Frau programs" full of Bavarian tongue twisters and musical wordplay. In 2009, this resulted in the duo program "MundARTissimo", which toured Bavaria together with Rupert Frank until 2015. After that, the artist turned away from the stage and devoted herself entirely to yodeling courses, which already began in 2012 parallel to the stage program and which took place until March 2020. During this time, the JODELMANTRAS and Mantras auf Boarisch were also created, which were very popular. Due to various measures in world affairs as well as health discrepancies, Barbara Lexa then decided to take a longer musical break.
In November 2021, the first songs with German lyrics were written for the newly planned album "Lass uns endlich Licht machen", which will be released in spring 2022.
Her book "Willst Du mit mir Licht machen" was already published in October 2021 by BaLeXa-Verlag and is still available there.
