Kapelle Weyerer

Singer, guitarist and songwriter Stefan Weyerer has been working as a studio and live musician and as a performer in his own name since 1990. On tours in Europe and the USA, he can be seen opening for Arlo Guthrie, with Rainhard Fendrich, The Beautiful South and others. As a guitarist, he plays in the bands of Tatort commissioner Michael Fitz, East Berlin singer-songwriter Wenzel and can be heard on numerous studio productions. At the age of 21, the self-taught musician signs his first record contract as songwriter for the singer Danila with CBS (today BMG Sony) and Warner Music signs him as exclusive writer. His entry into the world of major companies and the handling of his songs, however, disappoints him badly at first. He drops out of the project, moves to London for a few months, then begins vocal training and becomes a member of the unconventional cult combo "Der große Wah". With his song "Löse meine Taue" Stefan becomes a prize winner at the nationwide voice competition of the Hamburg Voice Academy. A turning point was his move to Berlin in 2003, from where Stefan Weyerer began to take his work more and more beyond the boundaries of pop. In 2005 he founded his solo project "Kapelle Weyerer" and together with his wife the label "Ein neues System" to have maximum artistic freedom for his new project. In 2004 the German children's charity chooses a song of the band for a cinema campaign. In 2005 the band plays in the USA by invitation. At the end of 2007 he released his first completely self-produced album ! practice liebe! 2007 / 2008 the "Kapelle Weyerer" is busy besides their own gigs and tours as a tour band of the actress and singer Jasmin Tabatabai. In Berlin, Weyerer also begins to compose his first film scores, such as the internationally award-winning score for the short film "Gut möglich, dass ich fliegen kann". From 2009 on, he collaborates as a guitarist with the experimental sound artist Zeitblom. This resulted in many productions for high-quality radio plays and sound installations. His guitar can also be heard on many of Ali Askin's film scores, including the German Film Award-winning score for Leroy. In 2012, the band Weyerer released its second album "Unstillbar" on R'n'D (Rough Trade), which delighted the press and the public. The now acoustic trio shines at acoustic concerts, club gigs and festivals. In 2014 Weyerer produced the internationally successful debut of the young Irish "All the Luck in the World".
Currently, the bandleader, who lives in Munich and Berlin, is working on the next album.
