Christoph Zirngibl

Christoph Zirngibl learned to play the drums at the age of five and the piano at 12. From the age of 13 and hearing John Williams' soundtrack to Jurassic Park for the first time, he knew he wanted to become a musician. He played in several bands and musical projects and composed his first theater music. During his military service, he also played drums in the army band. Afterwards, he studied film composition at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich from 2003, among others with Enjott Schneider. He graduated in 2007.

After working for a short time as a studio musician and composing the music for several short films, Zirngibl made his debut as a film composer in German cinema in 2007 with films such as "Kein Bund für's Leben" and "Neues vom Wixxer". He later worked sporadically with composer Andreas Weidinger, whom he already knew as a lecturer from his student days and with whom he shares a joint music studio. Together with Helmut Zerlett, he was nominated for the German Film Critics Award in 2011 for the score of Jerry Cotton.

In 2016, he received the award of the German Academy for Television in the category of music for "Neben der Spur - Amnesie"
