Description
Kaiserslautern: A touch of reunion is sweeping the music scene as Michael Halberstadt aka HALBY and Ludwig Hesky, the former members of the pioneering gothic band "Arts & Decay", return after almost exactly 30 years with a new single "Drivers".
In the years between 1986 and 1993, Halby and Hesky influenced the German gothic scene with "Arts and Decay" and caused an international sensation with their song "MescaL 1986". As pioneers of German dark wave, they left a lasting impression and are regarded as spearheads of the scene.
"Drivers" poses an introspective question in the midst of a world searching for orientation. The chorus, which begins with the line "and the driver has forgotten where he is going", reflects the uncertainties and challenges of our time. Musically, the song is presented in the finest post-punk style, accompanied by a typical gothic rock guitar sound, grunge guitar riffs, a driving dark wave bassline and the characteristic string and synth sounds of the 80s and 90s.
"Drivers" was recorded, mixed and mastered by Halby and Hesky at Web-End Studios Kaiserslautern. Halby handles the electric guitars, A-guitar and vocals, while Hesky is responsible for bass, strings, drum programming and special effects.
"Drivers" not only marks the return of Halby & Hesky, but also a powerful revisiting of their musical legacy and influence on the post punk and gothic rock scene.
