Friedrich Hebbel - Lieder von Liebe, Tod und Leidenschaft by Marcator

In cooperation with the city of Wesselburen (Dithmarschen), the birthplace of the poet and dramatist Friedrich Hebbel (1813-1863), Marcator created 14 compositions to selected Hebbel lyrics.

The music does not follow classical models (Brahms) but is kept in a modern style with many guitar sounds, synthesizers etc.. Marcator receives vocal support from Ariane Templin and Gabriela Hotsch, who have also participated in previous productions, as well as Lutz Herkenrath, a prominent actor and speaker who also lives in Wesselburen. Due to the different performers and the musical versatility, the album is varied and exciting! The lyricism of Hebbel is brilliant in its making, the themes are mostly gloomy or mysterious. The music reflects these moods.
